CinemaLive proudly presents AIDA

Captured LIVE from Teatro alla Scala, Milan

CinemaLive is thrilled to present Verdi’s AIDA from La Scala, the first of many new arts initiatives from ‘Italy’s Greatest Opera Series‘ on Saturday May 16, 2009.

One of opera’s most revered classics, AIDA delivers an intense, compelling drama highlighted by spectacular theatrical pageantry. Directed and designed by Franco Zeffirelli, composed by Giuseppe Verdi and conducted by Riccardo Chailly, AIDA is captured LIVE from Teatro alla Scala, Milan.

This four act melodrama is set in ancient Egypt during the reign of the Pharaohs and confirms that in the game of love and war, all is fair… or is it?

Not to be missed; this tragic love triangle is full of political intrigue, love, betrayal, passion as we follow the story of three people conflicted by their love for country, family and each other.

“We are delighted to be able to bring this spectacular opera to both metropolitan and regional centres.  Today, AIDA is as popular as ever all over the world. The first act is possibly the most famous and best loved of all Verdi’s operas”, said Janelle Mason, Joint Director of CinemaLive.
