CinemaLive is excited to announce they will deliver encore screenings one of André Rieu’s annual concert series from his hometown of Maastricht, in The Netherlands, to his fans in Australia and New Zealand.
The Dutch violinist and conductor is one of the world’s most successful touring artists and each year he performs a series of concerts in his hometown of Maastricht in The Netherlands. These concerts are performed in front of thousands of fans and set amongst the cultural backdrop of his beautiful hometown.
As always, André will be joined by his famous Johann Strauss Orchestra and also performing this year will be some very special guests. Sir Anthony Hopkins has composed a Waltz titled, ‘And the Waltz Will Go On’ which will be performed. The Maastricht concerts are André’s most popular concerts of his yearly schedule with his most dedicated fans flying from all over the world to see this incredible event live.
Andre commented on the CinemaLive broadcast of his concert saying, "It fills me with great joy to be able to share my favourite concert of the year, live from my hometown in Maastricht with all of my friends. It is going to be a magical evening with some very special guests. Come and enjoy the music on the big screen in the comfort of your local cinema."
Charlotte Hawkins, on camera host for CinemaLive, comes with a wealth of experience in news and entertainment reporting for television. From the UK, she is currently on Sky Sunrise and Sky News, where she has been since 2007. Charlotte has also interviewed many film stars and performers for Sky, including Will Smith, Matt Damon, Johnny Depp, Russell Crowe, Renee Zellweger and Cameron Diaz, and has covered major events such as the Oscars and the British Academy of Film and Television Awards. After graduating from Manchester University with a degree in English Language & Literature, Charlotte completed a postgraduate diploma in Broadcast Journalism, after which she joined ITN Radio, and then went on to work for ITV.
As CinemaLive’s host for André Rieu Live from Maastricht 2011, Charlotte is dressed by Suzanne Neville, one of Europe's leading designers of eveningwear, who prides herself on keeping all design and production in the UK.
