Nirvana - Live At The Paramount

Nirvana's "Nevermind", the album that defined a generation, celebrates its 20th anniversary with an exclusive CinemaLive screening of the never before seen "Live At The Paramount", for one night only 9pm AEST, Friday September 23rd across Australia.

Released in September 1991, Nirvana's sophomore album and major label debut elevated Kurt Cobain, Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl from a critically acclaimed Aberdeen, Washington cult band to generational spokesmen who'd unwittingly created a cultural shift and musical touchstone. Rising to the top of the charts "Nevermind" would come to be much more than one of the most successful and influential albums of its or any era.

"Live At The Paramount" is the only known Nirvana live show ever recorded on film and has never been seen before now. Recorded at Seattle's Paramount Theatre, the concert was Nirvana's first big homecoming show, at the height of the hype surrounding "Nevermind". Marking twenty years since its release, Live At The Paramount will have its worldwide premiere, live via satellite around Australia.

Hosted by Richard Kingsmill, the screening will be the first and only chance to experience the concert on the big screen. Each ticket will include a copy of the Double CD 20th Anniversary Deluxe edition of "Nevermind", featuring 40 tracks including rarities, studio outtakes and live tracks

"I was lucky enough to see Nirvana twice on their only Australian tour. The intensity in the room was unforgettable. You knew how important it all was right there and then. The whole momentum of the worldwide music scene changed with that band and that album. Twenty years on, the memories are still strong, but I'm as eager as any Nirvana fan would be to see this film footage and this concert," said triple j's Richard Kingsmill.

Nirvana "Live At The Paramount" will be broadcast LIVE via satellite to cinemas for one night only on Friday 23rd September at 9pm AEST. Ticket price is $35 and includes a copy of Nirvana "Nevermind" 20th Anniversary Deluxe Edition 2CD or Download.
