CINEMALIVE WIN 3 BOX OFFICE AWARDS

CinemaLive took home 3 Bronze Box Office Awards at Friday’s ECA Conference for achieving over 100,000 admissions per event for André Rieu’s 2015 & 2016 Maastricht Concerts and André Rieu: Christmas with André. 

The Event Cinema Association (ECA) Awards celebrate event cinema and raise the profile and understanding of the sector. The full list of winners are listed HERE.

ANDRÉ RIEU TAKES AUSTRALIA BY STORM WITH CHRISTMAS WITH ANDRÉ!

The King of Waltz surprised the Australian box office reporters by climbing to the second spot this weekend – being beaten only by Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them.

Whilst the annual Maastricht concert is always popular in Australia, it was fantastic to see cinema audiences turning out in their numbers for André’s Christmas event. Christmas with André earned $1.08 million at the box office, with a screen average of $8,370 across 130 screens nationwide.

ANDRÉ RIEU: CHRISTMAS WITH ANDRÉ BREAKS 2015 SINGLE DAY BOX OFFICE RECORD!

André Rieu: Christmas with André has broken his own previous box office record, to become the highest grossing single day music concert event of all time at the UK & Irish box office.

Christmas with André screened at 480 cinema locations in the UK & Ireland and grossed a verified result of £1,162,000 (source: comScore). The event featured a never-before-seen recorded Christmas concert, a personal live tour of André’s hometown of Maastricht and a live Q&A with André hosted by Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins. The event surpassed André Rieu’s 2015 Maastricht concert in cinemas which previously took £1,034,000 on a single day.

A NEW RECORD: ANDRÉ RIEU

This past weekend, André Rieu's 2016 Maastricht Concert took over £1.4 million at the UK & Irish box office, to become the highest grossing music concert of all time, attended by close to 100,000 people!

CINEMALIVE TO PARTNER WITH THE AUSTRALIAN BALLET

We are pleased to announce our new partnership with The Australian Ballet, to deliver a series of ballet productions to cinema audiences around the world, for the first time.

The initial release will be The Fairy Tale Series, comprimising of three productions, expected to screen in over 500 cinemas worldwide, including North America, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and Central and South America.

The first of The Australian Ballet productions to be screened in October 2016 will be the world premiere cinema release of Artistic Director David McAllister's The Sleeping Beauty, an exquisite, classical retelling of a favourite fairy tale based on Marius Petipa's ballet.

The second is The Australian Ballet's award-winning production of Cinderella, which will play a limited exclusive London season at the Coliseum this July, before its world premiere to cinema audiences in late 2016. The critically acclaimed production was created by Alexei Ratmansky, one of the world's most sought after choreographers, with extraordinary designes by Jerome Kaplan.

The third and final production is the 2016 production of Coppélia. A sparkling tale of magic and mischief, it was lovingly revived by founding Artistic Director Peggy van Praagh and Theatre Director George Ogilvie, and exquisitely dressed by master designer Kristian Fredrikson. It will have its world premiere in cinemas in 2017.

JOHN TRAVERS JOINS CINEMALIVE AS HEAD OF DISTRIBUTION

We are delighted to announce that John Travers had joined the CinemaLive team as our new Head of Distribution, to be based in our London office. John brings a wealth of experience in the cinema industry, having worked in exhibition at Cineworld for 16 years, before recently working as a consultant in Event Cinema distribution. John was also a founding board member of the Event Cinema Association.

CinemaLive Co-Director, Janelle Mason said: "We're thrilled to have John join the CinemaLive team as we forge ahead into a very exciting year and beyond."

2015  SCREEN AWARDS

Last night's Screen Awards celebrated and recognised excellence in UK marketing, distribution and exhibition. CinemaLive were 'Highly Commended' for André Rieu's 2015 Maastricht Concert in the Event Cinema Campaign of the Year category.  A huge congratulations to all the nominees & winners. 2015 ECA AWARDS

CinemaLive were the winners of two awards at the annual Event Cinema Association conference yesterday, held at Picturehouse Central, taking home the Bronze Award for 100,000+ admissions for André Rieu's 2014 Maastricht Concert and also for Best Distributor for Australasia.

A special mention must go to our friends Opera Australia, who won the award for Best Content Provider in Australasia!

2015 AIMC AWARDS

At the 2015 Australian International Movie Convention on the Gold Coast, CinemaLive were presented with the award for the Highest Grossing Alternate Content for André Rieu's 2015 Maastricht Concert. The inaugural award was accepted by CinemaLive Co-Director and Executive Producer Janelle Mason.

CINEMALIVE DISTRIBUTE MOST SUCCESSFUL MUSIC CONERT OF ALL TIME TO UK & IRISH CINEMAS, INCLUDING OPENING NIGHT OF OVER £1 MILLION

On Saturday 18th July, André Rieu's 2015 Maastricht Concert became the highest grossing theatrical music concert of all time in the UK, Ireland, The Netherlands and Denmark, watched by an estimated 150,000 people in cinemas across Europe.

London, UK: On Saturday 18th July, André Rieu's 2015 Maastricht Concert screened at 450 locations across the UK and Ireland, grossing a verified one night only result of £1,028,217 (source: Rentrak), making it the highest grossing music concert of all time to be broadcast to cinemas throughout this territory, surpassing other recent event cinema success stories including Take That Live and One Direction: Where We Are. His is the first music concert to take over £1m at the UK box office on a single day. The event also screened at a further 54 cinemas the following day, taking the current UK box office gross to £1,086,398 (source: Rentrak).

AIDA ON SYDNEY HARBOUR - IN CINEMAS

On Tuesday September 15th over 300 cinemas in the UK & Ireland will screen Opera Australia's magnificent production of Verdi's AIDA on Sydney Harbour giving cinema audiences the chance to see world-class opera from the other side of the globe, at their local cinema.

Major multiplexes, independent cinemas and arts centres will screen this spectacular outdoor production which performs to 3,000 people per night during its run on Sydney Harbour: March 27th to April 26th.

Sydney Harbour is arguably the world's most beautiful natural harbour, home to the Sydney Opera House, the Harbour Bridge and spectacular live events throughout the year.

ANDRÉ RIEU'S 2015 MAASTRICHT CONCERT - IN CINEMAS

We are pleased to announce that André Rieu's 2015 Maastricht Concert will be screened via satellite in cinemas in the UK & Europe for one night only on Saturday 18th July. His fans in Australia & New Zealand will also get the chance to see this incredible concert in cinemas on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th July.

The Maastricht concerts are André's most popular concerts of the year and 2015 is shaping up to be his biggest and most spectacular concert ever to be screened in cinemas. The event will also include a host who as always, will interview André immediately after his performance as an exclusive for cinema audiences, which has become a hallmark of his much loved cinema events.

THE OLD VIC'S THE CRUCIBLE - SCREENINGS CONTINUE!

The Old Vic's The Crucible continues its record breaking run in cinemas across the UK and Ireland throughout December to the end of March! There will also be cinema screenings in Austria, Finland, Luxembourg, Malta and The Netherlands from February and more cinemas have just been added in Germany, Australia and New Zealand. We are also pleased to announce that there will also be a chance to see this production on the big screen in Hong Kong!

THE OLD VIC'S THE CRUCIBLE - IN CINEMAS

We are pleased to announce that The Old Vic's five-star, sold-out production of Arthur Miller's The Crucible directed by Yaël Farber and starring Richard Armitage (The Hobbit, Into the Storm) will be screened in over 350 cinemas across the UK and Ireland for two screenings only, Thursday 4th & Sunday 7th December 2014. FINAL UK SCREENINGS + PRE-ORDER 'LOVE IN VENICE' CD/DVD AT CINEWORLD

CinemaLive, Cineworld and Decca Records are pleased to announce that André Rieu's UK Smash Hit 2014 Maastricht Concert will be shown at 68 Cineworld cinemas on 2nd and 3rd November to give his fans across the UK the chance to experience this magnificent concert for a final time on the big screen. Fans will also have the chance to pre-order André's new album Love in Venice when buying their cinema tickets online. This will be the first time an artist has 'bundled' a music product with cinema tickets in the UK.

Hosted by Good Morning Britain's Charlotte Hawkins, the 10th Anniversary Concert currently holds the UK Box Office record for the highest grossing music event of all time grossing £858,957 predominantly on the 19th July only, and was filmed in André's hometown of Maastricht in The Netherlands in July.

The new album Love in Venice released on 3rd November is a CD/DVD full of new romantic tracks by André where his fans will also be able to enjoy the familiar hits like Volare, O sole mio, Santa Lucia, Azzurro and the wonderful, joyful holiday feeling from 'la bella Italia'.

CINEMALIVE DISTRIBUTE THE HIGHEST GROSSING MUSIC EVENT OF ALL TIME TO UK CINEMAS.

This past weekend, André Rieu’s 2014 Maastricht Concert became the UK’s highest grossing music event of all time at the UK box office!

On Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th July, André Rieu’s 2014 Maastricht Concert screened at 410 cinema locations across the UK and Ireland, making it the highest grossing music concert of all time to be broadcast to cinemas throughout this territory. 

As well as this, the concert screened at 234 cinemas across Europe, including France, Germany, The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Romania, Finland and Croatia. Further screenings will take place this coming weekend in Australia and New Zealand, followed by Canada, USA, Mexico, Russia and South East Asia, reaching over 1,000 cinema screens in 35 countries.

To help celebrate the 10th Anniversary of André’s traditional summer evening concerts, staged on the most romantic city square in The Netherlands: the Vrijthof in Maastricht, his fans were treated to one of the most extraordinary concerts of the year from the comfort of their local cinema, as the maestro put on a magnificent spectacle during this very special anniversary edition of his much-loved concerts.

André Rieu’s 10th Anniversary 2014 Maastricht Concert In Cinemas – Tickets selling fast + Celebratory Waltz takes place in London!
 
The satellite broadcast of André Rieu‘s 10th Anniversary 2014 Maastricht Concert, which will be shown in cinemas for One Night Only across the UK and Europe on Saturday 19th July, was celebrated with violinists and waltzers, dancing to André’s signature piece, Johann Strauss’ The Blue Danube, on The Queen’s Walk, alongside London’s own ‘Danube’, the river Thames! As part of a worldwide cinema event, the concert will be delivered 426 screens via satellite on 19th July, including Odeon, Cineworld and Vue theatres. Outside of the UK & Ireland, the event will be shown on over 1000 cinema screens in 35 countries worldwide including the USA, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Russia, The Netherlands, Germany, Iceland, Australia and New Zealand.
